Play is an essential part of child development, as learners begin to navigate the world around them. Play fosters a growth mindset in children and encourages them to keep trying hard things. A child who knocks over a teetering tower is eager to build it again. Play creates a safe environment for children to take risks, make mistakes, make adjustments and try again. They are able to be reflective and learn from their failures.
